We are very proud to have been named “Youth Club of the Year 2018” by Community Action Suffolk and delighted to receive the Roddy MacLeod Award.

We were nominated by Mark a Social Work lecturer at the University of Suffolk, the nomination included

“Outreach youth is the very essence of a small but exceptional youth club – Outreach youth offers young LGBTQ+ people a safe, supportive, affirming space – where they can be themselves without fear of being judged for their sexuality and/or gender identity.

As a youth work charity, they embody the core principles of youth work being educative, empowering, participative and committed to equality of opportunities. Outreach youth provides information and guidance for LGBTQ young people on their issues that are shaped by the young people, plus fun activities found in any ‘generic’ youth club, great youth workers to chat to and most importantly the space for LGBTQ young people to chill, relax and make new friends who have similar experiences.

Through this excellent provision –isolation is reduced, positive identities developed and positive relationships are built.”

Asger, George young people who attend the Ipswich youth group, joined by Pauline, Chair of Trustees and Mark our nominator – attended the presentation evening and had a fabulous time.
