On Friday 2nd February 2018, young people, volunteers and staff at Outreach youth held their first “Open Event” for adults who were interested in the work of the charity.

The event co-produced with young people included a celebration of LGBT History Month, the opportunity for each visitor to make a unique name badge, a picture quiz of famous and less-famous LGBT*Q+ people, rainbow pom-pom making and displays that highlighted the charity and the personal experiences of young people attending.

Ipswich MP, Sandy Martin attended the event and tried his hand at the LGBT*Q+ History Month Picture quiz,

Feedback from the adults that attended was fantastic – they particularly highlighted the opportunity to meet and talk with the young people as being a highlight.

Thanks to all the young people involved to all those people who came along.

After the success of this event further Open Event’s are being planned throughout the year.
