Great opportunities for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender or questioning young people to meet as a group and offer one-to-one support in safe, welcoming, non-judgemental settings
We meet as a group and also offer one-to-one support, both in safe, welcoming, non-judgemental settings in Ipswich, Bury St Edmunds and North Essex. Outreach youth venues aren’t shown on our publicity material or web site to ensure young people who are not ‘out’ can access a safe environment
What if I’m not ‘out’?
Outreach Youth ensures your confidentiality and we won’t inform anyone that you’ve got in touch with us. Not everyone who comes along are ‘out’ so we’re careful to maintain confidentiality at all times
For over 10 years, we have been supporting and working, with Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans*, Queer and Questioning (LGBT*Q+) young people, their friends and families across Suffolk and Essex. The strength and resilience of all the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans*, Queer and Questioning (LGBT*Q+) young people that we are and have been in contact with inspires us.
Outreach youth also provides other Youth Work projects, with our partners, that support and work with other young people, who are often regarded as “hard to reach”, to make Suffolk and Essex a better place to live.
It's really good coming here – you can talk about gay issues and know other people are going through the same sort of things as you – I think we all help each other as well as having a laugh Female Youth – aged 15
Outreach is just a place where you can relax, be yourself and make loads of new friends. There's a comfortable environment and there's always something FABULOUS happening. It's amazing Male Youth – aged 15
